The mission of our province is to bring the vision of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to life through focused, actionable pillars that drive spiritual growth and community transformation.
We are committed to aggressive church planting, establishing new parishes in underserved areas of Abuja. This effort utilizes modular structures such as house fellowships to enable rapid expansion. Each new parish follows a community-centric model, tailoring its activities to meet local needs — for instance, offering vocational training in low-income neighborhoods.
Holistic community development is another core pillar. This includes social services like free medical outreaches, scholarship programs, and food banks designed to meet physical needs while opening doors for spiritual engagement. In addition, we engage in advocacy by partnering with local governments to support policies that align with Christian ethics, including initiatives that promote family welfare and moral uprightness.
Discipleship and leadership training form a crucial part of our mission. Through the RCCG School of Disciples, we offer weekly Bible studies and certificate programs that deepen members’ theological knowledge. Our Provincial Leadership Institute is dedicated to equipping pastors and lay leaders with skills in modern pastoral care, conflict resolution, and digital evangelism.
We also emphasize dynamic worship and spiritually enriching programs. Monthly Holy Ghost Services serve as powerful night vigils where attendees experience miracles and deliverance. In addition, Faith Clinics provide interactive settings where members receive prayer, counseling, and support for personal challenges.
The vision of RCCG FCT Province Six is firmly anchored in the global mandate of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, while also employing strategies tailored to Abuja’s spiritual and societal landscape. The Province aspires to nurture a community of believers who are committed to holiness, thereby living lives that reflect the teachings of Christ and ensure their place in eternal salvation.
The following are our visions and goals as members of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God:
We seek to fulfill a vision of ubiquitous evangelism by establishing parishes within five minutes’ walking or driving distance across the city, ensuring that no family remains unreached by the gospel. Through a focus on cultural transformation, the Province aims to reshape societal values using biblical principles, countering moral decline and promoting righteousness in both public and private life. Additionally, we envision ourself as a vital link in RCCG’s global mission, serving as a strategic hub that supports the church’s goal of reaching every nation, while also engaging the distinct urban challenges of Abuja.
From a divine covenant in 1952 to a thriving provincial hub in the heart of the FCT, RCCG FCT Province 6 – King’s House Parish remains steadfast in its mission: soul-winning, discipleship, and community transformation.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was divinely established in 1952 by Pa Josiah Akindayomi in Lagos, Nigeria. Despite being unlettered, he received the church’s name and global mission through divine inspiration. Under his leadership, RCCG was built on a covenant to take the gospel to every nation of the world. From small home fellowships to rapidly multiplying parishes, the church began its national spread by the 1980s, laying the groundwork for what would eventually reach the Federal Capital Territory.
As RCCG experienced exponential growth across Nigeria, the church underwent a major administrative restructuring under the leadership of Pastor E.A. Adeboye. This led to the creation of several provinces to ensure efficient governance and pastoral oversight.
Within this structure, FCT Province Six was carved out to serve the Gwagwalada axis and its environs. The province was born out of RCCG’s increasing presence in the FCT and was officially formed in the early 2000s. It began with 12 pioneer parishes and has since grown to oversee over 50 parishes, spearheading initiatives such
as youth empowerment hubs, prison outreaches, and the annual Abuja Revival Summit, which now attracts international speakers. In 2022, the province launched a dedicated radio ministry, expanding its reach beyond church walls.
At the heart of FCT Province Six lies RCCG King’s House Parish, Gwagwalada, planted in 1995 at Millinet Hotel (now Atlas Hotel). It was birthed by RCCG Central Parish (now Region 10 Headquarters) under the direction of the late Pastor Olu Obanure. The early mission was entrusted to Pastor & Pastor (Mrs) Nosa Ukponmwan, Pastor & Pastor (Mrs) Ogunro Bayo, Pst. (Mrs) Afolabi Stella, and other committed brethren, with a vision to win souls in the Gwagwalada axis.
After relocating in 1996 to a corner shop facility near the Water Board Office in Phase 1, the parish was officially upgraded to an Area Headquarters in 1998, with Pastor Nosa Ukponmwan serving as the first Pastor-in-Charge of Area. That same year, the church acquired its current permanent site, and its first auditorium was laid by leaders including Pastor M.O. Ojo, Pastor David G. Kuo, and Pastor & Pastor Mrs. Olu Obanure.
The parish went through multiple restructurings, being integrated into different RCCG state and provincial frameworks:
Under this evolving leadership, King’s House Parish became a pivotal ministry hub in the region. In 2015, the RCCG mission introduced a new leadership structure, merging the roles of Pastor-in-Charge of Parish and Province into a single leadership unit.
